Man Goes Blind After Experiencing 'Mind-Blowing' Orgasm In England
A 29-year-old man from Southampton, England was impaired
in his left eye, allegedly due to a good orgasm. The man told doctors he had 'vigorous sexual intercourse' the night before.
Doctors examined him and found a haemorrhage in his eye caused by a pressure build up when he had an orgasm. According to a report in The Sun, the BMJ report stated, "During orgasm the valsalva manoeuvre [holding your breath to prevent an orgasm] can produce a sudden increase in retinal venous pressure resulting in vessel rupture and haemorrhagic retinopathy,"
The report also said that men are at risk of this type of injury as they are likely to hold their breath to stop themselves ejaculating.
However, the injury was only temporary.
