LaLiga: Maradona reveals what he told Real Madrid president about Mbappe
Football legend, Diego Maradona has disclosed what he told
Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez about Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe.
Maradona, who is now coach in the UAE, said the Los Blancos should off-load injury-prone forward, Gareth Bale to make way for the French starlet who was linked with a big-money move to the LaLiga champion during last transfer window, before settling on a switch to PSG.
“Mbappe, for me he is the big revelation in football. I think he can surpass many players,” Maradona told Spanish publication AS.
“And why did [Perez] not sign him? I told him! It was when we saw each other at FIFA.
“He said to me, ‘[but] you know I have Cristiano’”, he added.
Real Madrid, fourth in the LaLiga table after 15 games, subsequently failed to bring in the 18-year-old to the Spanish capital.
